A sustainable commitment


Nowadays a lot of green brands are taking place in the market and that’s good news ! People’s mindsets are evolving, the demand for sustainable products is getting bigger and bigger and companies are hearing it.

That is why, as a green beauty client, I tend to be more specific in my choices and more demanding and I don’t miss a single detail (composition, packaging, delivery).

When I trust a brand, I want to make sure that it has all the categories required according to me.


At Melvita, the products are designed and made by a passionate team, in Paris and in the south of France. The team is constantly striving to limit the environmental impact of the activities at different stages in the life of the products.




An eco-friendly packaging


The eco-packaging design department ensures that their product packaging both protects the formula and respects the environment.

Since they comply with Ecocert requirements, they have made a responsible choice to limit the amount of materials used and give priority to those that are environmentally ethical. • They use recyclable materials when possible: Glass, aluminum, PE, PET and PP plastics, card and paper. Note that, all of the cards come from sustainably managed forests. • They tend to increase the share of recycled materials in their packaging; For instance: “The Floral Water” and “Extraordinary Water” bottles are made from 100% recycled PET. For the 50ml and 30ml formats. They use 30% recycled PET in their tubes, when it’s possible, without compromising aesthetics. “The Micellar Water” bottle is made with 25% recycled PET, and this enables to maintain the "pure" appearance of the clear bottle. This bottle can also be recycled. And for their products “L’or Bio”, “L’or rose” and the beauty oils, they use recycled glass. • They promote packaging weight down by offering products in large sizes This applies to some of their shampoos, floral waters, Micellar Water. • They establish some good practices They constantly aim to keep reducing waste while giving priority to recyclable materials. They strongly encourage our customers to recycle.


A recycling program



As you can see, Melvita is focused on respecting the environment and reducing the carbon footprint. That’s an everyday challenge !

That's why Melvita has the idea to launch a program with Terracycle to collect and recycle packaging in Melvita stores. So you can give a second life to your packaging!


How does it work ?

Bring your empty containers back to one of Melvita stores and you'll get a discount on your next purchase.

What can be recycled through this ?

All type of packaging is accepted, except glass containers, card, kraft paper packaging, and plastic sachets.

What happens to this waste ?

When the used packaging has been collected, it's sorted into different types of plastic. After washing, it's extruded into plastic pellets that will be re-used to make everyday objects.
